For the first time in Assam, a unique initiative “Abhyudaya Dhubri”, taken by Dhubri District Administration and Eckovation, has opened doors of education in North East regions of India.
Based on the field study and observations in public schools of Dhubri District in Assam with it’s unique socio-economic complexities, Abhyudaya initiative aims to provide quality education to students through integration of technology with a focus on ensuring continuous monitoring and accountability in the public education system.

Importance of projects like Abhyudaya in Assam
1. Improving Accessibility to Quality Education: Mobile technology to ensure reach of education in ‘Riverine island region of Brahmaputra’
Abhyudaya Dhubri Project in the government schools of Dhubri District has helped in adoption of latest technologies in the present education system of the district. The project has helped make the best use of omnipresence of Mobile Technology and internet connection even in the remotest regions of the District and thus improving accessibility to Quality Education at the palms of the students through a Mobile App where all the animated and interactive video lectures and 24×7 Doubt Discussion with teachers is accessible to students. Unlike the concept of Smart Classrooms, the Abhyudaya Project ensures accessibility to the Quality Learning Material to students 24×7 through Eckovation Mobile App. This has helped students in regularly revising key concepts and stay connected with their teachers.
2. Improving Learning Outcomes of students by making learning process interesting
The new fun filled way of learning has helped in better conceptual understanding among students. There focus has shifted from memorising to understanding. The real life examples used in the VR-based learning modules has created interest among students about learning something new each day.
This has resulted in better attendance in schools and a visible improvement in learning outcomes of the students in the 10 schools selected for Pilot Phase.
The efficient use of existing infrastructure and resources is ensured to make the project economical and scalable. The existing dust taking ICT infrastructure available in schools is used to take Abhyudaya Classes in Schools.
4. Inclusion of technology for monitoring and accountability in the current education system
This unique model provided a single platform to all the stakeholders involved in the execution of the initiative; all the teachers, education department, IT team to connect and communicate with Eckovation Team and District Administration. The problems faced in implementation are directly communicated to the every tier of administration, minimizing the communication gap. This also helped teachers getting recognition for their consequential efforts along with motivation and idea from other teachers.
5. Holistic Development of Abhyudaya Schools including personality development sessions, career guidance and support
Students of Abhyudaya Schools are regularly shared the vision and importance of education. Most of the students in these remote regions of the country are unaware of their capabilities and opportunities. The continuous career guidance sessions and support has helped in reduction of early school drop-outs. And has also helped in bridging the gap between educational opportunities for the students going to private schools in metro cities and the students from the remote and riverine island region of Dhubri District.
6. Capacity Building of teachers and a progressive step from chalk and talk model to adoption of latest ICT technology
The government schools, department of education and district administration with the complete support from Eckovation has created a education revolution under Abhyudaya Dhubri Project. The students, teachers, district administration and Eckovation are the drivers of change in this revolution.
